Alcoholic : Do you think I am doing wrong by eating a date?
Scholar : NO
Alcoholic : And if I eat it with some grass?
Scholar : There is nothing with that.
…****** Alcoholic : And if I were to wash them down with water?
Scholar : Drink and enjoy
Alcoholic : Since all of that is permissible, then why do you forbid us from alcohol, which consists of the above mentioned ingredients?
Scholar : If I poured water on top of you, would that hurt you?
Alcoholic : No it would not.
Scholar : And if I were to sprinkle some dirt in that, would you be hurt?
Alcoholic : That would not harm me.
Scholar : But if I were to mix water and dirt together and through a process make a large brick from those two elements, and then were I throw that large brick at you, would you be hurt?
Alcohol can kill you? Yes if you drink in the pakistani way.. just drink and drink without thinking. But the whole world drinks alcohol, how many deaths do you see there because of alcohol? only the excessive use is negative and excessive use of ANYTHING is bad.
Alcohol is actually really good for your health if you drink it like a human is suppose to drink, but I do accept that pakistanis at least don't deserve to drink it, they are complete morons when it comes to alcohol, they just can't digest it.
Yeah that is why there are over 75000 alcohol related deaths in the US each year, isn’t it? That is why it is the third leading cause of preventable death there? That is why it kills more people worldwide than AIDS, TB and violence, according to WHO?
Didn’t I just used a word excess? yes if you use it excessively then it can kill you.
And if I take your figure of 75,000 right, then how about those millions of people who drink alcohol all their life and stay as healthy as they can? you didn’t get my point, drink it wisely and it will even make you healthy, drink in excess and die, its simple.
About pakistanis, as I have seen people behaving after drinking it, thats why I said they don’t deserve it because most of them drink it like animals and can’t stop when they should stop.
Is it about Pakistanis don’t mix with alcohol or are you just against Pakistanis? LOL
Your ideas regarding alcohol being quote “actually very good for your health” is disturbingly inaccurate. It is established that alcohol does indeed reduce the rate of heart disease compared to people who do not drink alcohol at all. BBC News - Alcohol in moderation ‘can help prevent heart disease’
However, where is the benefit if people who are saved from heart disease are getting cancer? Ok perhaps that statement is sensational, but it is now known that alcohol even in small amounts causes cancer … Alcohol and cancer : Cancer Research UK
Furthermore alcohol related deaths include: alcohol suicide, alcohol road accidents and general rage and alcohol induced fighting and none of these require extreme volumes of alcohol to be drunk - they merely need to be slightly drunk to switch into a different mindset - becoming dangerous to themselves and others around them.
Alcohol increases the trait of self-estimation and reduces the ability to think objectively - as a result people often do not realise when to stop drinking. If it was not legal it would be a Class A drug.
I would humbly disagree with you, you are maybe writing all this not based on experience and just by reading some reports, I can show you tons of articles which emphasis on the good sides of alcohol and prove that its healthy if not excessively used.
But since I personally know people who have used alcohol “sensibly” all their lives and are still very fit, even compared to those who never used alcohol in their lives, I can say that alcohol is not bad for your health, yes the excess of it is.
I am not saying that a person who uses alcohol is more healthy than others, I am jst saying I have seen lots of people who do use it and have never encountered any problem. So the key here is to use it wisely and you will be fine.
About pakistanis, thats my personal experience, you should be glad I am against my fellow brothers taking any form of alcohol and take part in that sinful act, they are better without it.

The link I gave is from a leading research charity for cancer treatment.
Anyway, from my experience the fitness levels of people who do not drink compared to the fitness levels who do drink is also tied with other aspects of their lifestyle. For example: Muslims tend to be people who do not drink and on the whole Muslims, especially Muslim women tend to be less inclined for sporting activities. In order to compare fitness levels of people who drink from those who do not you must first factor out the cultural differences in exercise routines and also the genetic difference in people who are for example not indigenous to living in colder climates such as Asians who live in the West - they are more likely to get heart disease, diabetes and Vitamin D deficiencies. If you factor out these climatic induced problems then you can compare the effectiveness of people who drink occasionally from those who do not drink at all.
So since you can show me tons of articles - I would be happy to read some of them ... note I will be looking for the dates when these articles were published, because what I have provided regarding cancer and alcohol link - even in small amounts - is cutting edge, recent research findings.

You do realize I don't have all these articles piled up in my personal database of most favorite sites? I will have to do a tedious job of compiling all the links and post here, do you really want me to do this even when I have not referenced any article and talking on the basis of my personal experience?
I just don't agree that alcohol is a danger if its taken in a low amount, and I have personal experience and I know many people who do that and have no problem. About cancer, many people unfortunately develop this even when they do not smoke let alone consume alcohol, what about that? There are lots of people who although living a healthy life suddenly become victim of a dangerous illness without any apparent reason, why do you people keep blaming alcohol and want to prove that its dangerous? when the fact is you never know what will make you ill, what will be cause of cancer or TB or heart attack...there is no one in this world who can claim that since he does not smoke or don't drink so he is immune to cancer.
I get it because of religious issues you HAVE to prove alcohol is wrong, but that is not the fact, because then everything in this world is bad because even if you don't drink or smoke you can still get cancer, who will that person blame? Allah ki marzi?
Stop being biased towards these things just because you are religiously inclined to do so and feel a compulsion that you must prove its wrong.
Whether alcohol is good or bad for health, for Muslims it is 'Not permissible (Haraam)" and this is the end of dicsussion. However, if you would like to share benefits of using alcohol than you are we welcome to open it in 'Heath & Fitness Fourm.
