Why did you join Gupshup? Does it do what it needs to do for you?
First of all thank you for the opportunity, Miss_Mohabbat. Please ignore all grammatical errors. It’s really intimidating talking in text with a person who is notorious of issuing fatwas against grammatically challenged folks like myself.
Back to your question… I have been using the internet since 1995. Like most of first timers, my first love was AOL. I really enjoyed the AOL IM and met lots of Pakistanis through that medium. That bug carried and I joined other desi chat and message boards such as yahoo.
Then one fine morning I needed some stuff on Pakistan’s history, did a google and viola…entered Gupshup. It took me directly to a post and I found the exact information I was looking for. The seed was planted.
In the beginning it did a lot for me. It brought me closer to desis. In real life my interaction with desis is only limited to cricket. Also, I spent most of my teens in America with very limited interaction with Pakistanis, specially females. GS gave me an insight into Pakistani girls thinking.
Who did you have to be nice to to become a Mod?
Actually that’s a funny question. The admin who banned me once and the only time was Saba. And amazingly enough a year later she asked me to join her team. I asked her if she was out of her mind because I won’t change my GS personna after becoming a mod. And she said, “that’s why I want you to moderate”.
Saba is one fine guppy. Having read her views in Mod forum I got to know her very well and I must say she was a very fair admin. Always knew how to separate facts from emotions.
Which forum would you get rid of, and why?
All the forums are like Gupshup’s children and to think of them as anything else is a sin. OK, that was BS. If I was to get rid of one forum, it has to be the Mod forum. You just don’t know how much party goes on there. It’s wild man. Mods go in there as if they enter a bar, get drunk and spill out all there secrets. I did it once and regret it to this day. I say get rid of Mod forum. As a replacement us mods can talk in Trash.
Who’s/Whose opinion do you dislike the most on GS? and why?
The list is endless. But it means nothing evil. I hate guppies who try to put others down based on their personality. Guppies who don’t tolerate others.

Never. I only move the content. The poster is irrelevent. Although it may be of no use to you, I would love to move everything umar.ashraf posts in KK without reading it. But luckily I am not KK mod.
