Just look the vibrancy of the colours. The image is so iconic in so many ways, from Imran’s personality to his Peshawari chappal to his pastel sky blue shalwar kameez capturing the essence of Pakistani summer, and the truck, yes that truck. The iconic hand painted, highly customised truck of Pakistan representing the indigenous form of art only unique to Pakistan. Pakistani trucks in my view are the hallmark of Pakistani street art. The colours, forms, calligraphy, embellishments, ornamental décor highlights the aesthetic vigour of the locals.
These trucks are the cultural icons of urban Pakistan, and I hope we find a way to preserve them and promote them.
