actually its a misconception.. it WAS true in 80s but not now...
and what you think make gov change their policies??? unfortunately we Pakistanis always gloat about our army's capabilities; and do nothing to FORCE gov to rethink. why would Governments will consider spending in social welfare when no one is asking them to?? all it takes just one more strategic test and then all is good.
its a pitty that most of foreign investment (I am refering to investements from Pakistansi abroad) is in real estate.. why not in industry??

There is no comparison between India & Pakistan. Pakistanis can never reach near India. Since 1947, how many martial laws were in India? and how many in Pakistan? How many constitutions have been written in India since 1947? and how many in Pakistan? How much the literacy rate in India & how much is in Pakistan? How much security/TAX benefits are provided in India to industry & how much in Pakistan?

Najim, I wouldn't necessarily go down that route. Its just a point in time issue, as far as I see. I don't like to compare Pakistan with India just because their relative sizes and issues are so different that any comparison is inane to begin with.
Having said that, Zombie got two headlines side by side, which deal with different issues in two different contexts. Right now its Muharram and Ashora, and for whatever reason, this is always a time of high sensitivity in Pakistan with higher security issues. Bombs go off and innocent people die.
When Indian Gujrat and Ahmadabad were going through riots, we could have taken a headline of those riots and contrasted them to any business development in Pakistan and said "ahaa! see India is embroiled in problems while Pakistan is making huge progress".
Neither that nor the current situation are a fair representation of either nation. Pakistan has its fair share of problems, but in many areas it is doing very well, masha allah.
