The only one disrespecting the religion here is you, first by defending UrAngel's comments which many girls here found very degrading and very wrong, and second by arrogantly calling all of us who got offended ignorant and disrespectful. :)
no u didnt prove me wrong. the translation in the quran i have at home still says “bosom” and there is no parenthesis after it saying that it means headscarf…u PUT the parenthesis there.
WHAT? how u gonna tell me what im thinking? all i said was i have a problem with it…
sorry… i’ve had enough of your cliche spurting posts…
I’m sorry, I was under the misconception that you were inviting civil discussion. My first question was just asking for an explanation on how you distinguished between these two degrees of hijab. What I meant about the “hijab debate” point is simply that many people interpret these verses differently, hence the debate. There are not as many of different ways to interpret the order to men and women to keep their eyes cast down. So it seems to be a clearer command to obey. I am not questioning the requirement of “hijab,” just pointing out that the interpretations have been different in different cultures, societies, languages, generations, etc.
I’m not going to bother addressing this since it reflects more on your manners than my skills.
I do not equate your interpretation with the words of the Quran and the Hadith, and neither should you. I question your interpretation, not those original words. And I know there were references to Quran and Hadith in the post, that’s why I clicked on the thread in the first place.
It’s sad when religion becomes an excuse for people to judge and oppress others rather than enlighten themselves.
So prove how I’m disrespecting it my religion. I prove my statements on everything I’ve posted, so PLEASE, I’m asking you AGAIN.
Prove she said: “Women deserved to get raped”.
Here is my statement which i supported that SHE stated: “Women who invite the rapist by such clothing are to blame not the rapist.”
I’ve already respected your posts on rape, told you not to start the convo here, you kept going. And hten have nerve to call this disrespect?
Give me the publication, the translator and the year your Quran was published.
No I did not put the paranthesis there.
If you read the first posts in this thread thats where I copied my reply, and the sources for them are PROVIDED IN POST #1.
Shweet dreamz, everytime you keep showing me how you paid no attention to the objective posts made int he beginning.
Please be kind to refer to them, before posting your subjective views. Everything is there.
So then why are you posting if you can’t provide rational proofs?
There was no debate to the degrees of hijaab. Different intrepetaions that were accepted and practices by the Imams.
You said, " I can read "
By not reading my posts, I concurred that you “cannot read.”
Was I wrong?
Post Number 1. States my source, and where the article is from.
So that does not make it **my **interpretation of the words of the Quran and the hadith.
These are from scholars of Isnad and Ijaza. I have no authority to alter it.
So, Was I wrong with that?

Yes so true. Exactly what I’ve been trying to tell everyone who is posting against the teachings.
for those of you who asked about the verse that has been revealed in regards to the hijab...here it is:
I wont be commenting on this any further and would appreciate it if you didnt either. This is for informational purposes only and not intended for debate.
thanks :)
"And tell thy believing women to lower their gaze, and protect their private parts and not to show off their adornments except only that which is apparent and to draw their **veils **all over "Juyubihinna" and not to reveal their adornment except to their........."
I was almost half way through splitting the thread and having a separate one on how rape is not justified for hijabis and non-hijabis alike. However, I came to realize that it's not worth it.
The original hijaab topic has been beaten to death and this thread has most certainly lived its life. It's best off getting locked. Those who wish to review this thread or any other on commandments of hijab can do so by using the search option.
And the debate is exactly what this veil is supposed to look like and exactly whether it involves covering the face and the hair...since the ayah stipulates that one needs to use the garment to cover their bosoms.
I thought bosoms was another part of your body, not your hair...
What’s more surprising is that she just wants to post an ayah up that most everyone knows about, and can be found in most hijab threads anyway, and then claims she doesn’t want to discuss it. So she basically said “Here, hijabs are mandatory, no argument, I am right, you dont have any reason to reply to this thread, I win by default”.
