I am looking for a book that has day to day meal instructions, DOs and DON’Ts for heart patients.
What I mean by meal instructions is the complete detailed nutrition charts/guides. Like how many carbs or callories or cholestrol can be taken at lunch time. And what are the different things you can take to meet that level.
If you guys aware of any such book, be it specifically for heart patients or in general, do let me know.
Re: A complete guide for heart patients
I can't think of any specific one, but often times a cardiology clinic will carry these sorts of books with nutrition guides. Also peruse a health section and cooking section of a book store.
Re: A complete guide for heart patients
Yep, I remember my mum was sent home a bunch of literature and dietary guys. Best go to the clinic.
Re: A complete guide for heart patients
Thanks for the suggestions. I will definetely check them out. I also found few books on Amazon and reading their reviews these days before I buy one. Often, they look good with description and covers but actually the are dumb writings for American white trash.
Re: A complete guide for heart patients
You know, there is plenty of dumb Pakistani trash out there too.
Anyway, I would also recommend going to health food stores and regular ol' food stores. The food market is aware of the big health awareness trend, and so they publish a lot of literature on nutritional values. I once got a list of meats and their nutritional values, and also a list of veggies and fruits and their nutritional values from a major grocery store.
Re: A complete guide for heart patients
^Thanks, I didn't want to go out and do research for the patient, rather a complete book on this topic which I can gift to him.
P.S: You don't need to comment on what I think about average Americans.
Re: A complete guide for heart patients
I really don't think you would need a book because I am sure you won't able to follow and execute all the suggesions...
But a heart patient or a wouldbe heart patient should avoid smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, saturated fats, industrial foods and beverages and any intake/activity which could lead to obesity/the state of angryness...
On the contrary...physical activities are highly recommended! :)
