Re: A Combined Graduate and Undergraduate Program?
UT will be a good option. anyways as i said, u cant nto go wrong with SMU, UT austin, or even where you are, the other two will get you better opportunities intially and have stronger alumni support.
As far as continuing education MBA from the company, its not something you will be able to start right away, it depends on the company, and its not always very easy. Yoy will most likely not get qualified for an executive MBA for some time so it will be part time MBA, i.e. evening classes. with a fulltime job and family it requires a lot of commitment.
Factor all these things in mind as you decide what is right for you

Re: A Combined Graduate and Undergraduate Program?
A year later…almost exactly a year later…
Should I open a new thread or let this one be
I most definitely want to go do the joint program now..only thing is Im thinking of the MSMR vs MBA
(Masters of Science in Marketing Research)
The thing is that with MSMR ..only very few universities offer it currently and our University has I guess found a niche on this, so I think its highly desirable at this moment. I would know more after I meet the director of the program. Highly competitive admission too.

when you say highly desirable, make sure your assertion is backed by industry stats and not just the fact that it's a "unique" or "cool-sounding" degree.
Many business schools these days offer a variant of their MBA degrees with different concentrations and they brand these degrees as an MS degree - however, I have witnessed students having to overcome the barrier of informing the potential employers what that MS degree is all about. MBA is a globally recognized professional degree and everyone knows what to expect of a graduate... but with a new MS degree, there is always going to be some work involved in permeating the information to the industry. I see this day in and out with my students in the MS program.
What you are saying, makes sense. Now yesterday night I thought I was a bit sure as to what I would want to do..today not as sure:(
One thing is rereading the thread, the posts make a lot more sense to me now then I would say a year ago.
One thing is I have gotten comfortable at the Business school I am currently attending and going the combined route just seems like the natural thing to do considering the job market conditions as well as my personal situation.
