Peace All
Please stop making fun of firenze ... you know he is right. Money has no value in reality it is the symbol for dunya and we are chasing it like there is no tomorrow and that it will be our route to heaven.
So what "money makes the dead come back to life", one day we all go to our graves eventually and in those graves money earns us nothing because others have taken it all, but if we spent some good deed or made someone happy in this life then they could be praying for us. Money is only good and only worth something when we get rid of it, not when we have it. The best way to get rid of it is to spend it in the way of God because the return on it is in proportion to the grain of corn parable in the Qur'an, no gambling ratio can beat those odds! True wealth is tarbiyyah i.e. noble children.
P.S. If wealth was so great why were the early Muslims the best of the Ummah mostly poor?

Re: A choice
I believe that important thing in life is to learn to be content with what you have. I have seen people who have moeny but they don't have their kids or loved ones to share that with or even some are not blessed with good health. We can't deny that money does make your life comfortable from materialistic view but again if you don't have peace of mind or health to enjoy it it's worthless. Anyhow, either way it's test of God.

Having a great relationship..would be my option...
Re: A choice
clearing throat
Meaningful relationships are very important in life. Living around people who don’t like you can be hurtful and stressful. You also are subjected to bad’duas. Our life’s goal should be to collect blessings, especially from people who are important in our lives. We should at least try.
Having said that, money is important, for I can’t exchange a relationship for food and clothing. When you have money, you have less burden if you are on the right track and if your means of earning are halal. When you have money you can help more people and earn blessings.
Muslims in the earlier years spent their entire day learning their deen and then spreading it. These days to even earn a comfortable living one has to spend a good amount of their time at work. However, our resources are greater and we can therefore practice our religion more effectively.
So Sara, I realy cannot choose one of the two for my answer lies somewhere in between :hinna:

Re: A choice
Am I the only one here with different views?
Talian. Good speech. That is what I said earlier.
To your point of spending a good amount of time to earn good living. I have been saying all along that if you do not forget Allah and keep doing tasbeeh while you work, that time you spend at work will be counted as abadat.
Contrary to what some people want you to believe that ebadat is name of sitting in one corner and doing tasbeeh or it is praying nafil on musalah all the time , ebat is name of many other things and zikr/dikr/tasbeeh of Allah even if you are busy doing something else is also ebadaat. If we allcould make this a habit we will be doing that tasbeeh all the time and that will protect us from doing bad things , because no one can do bad thing and could be doing tasbeeh at the same time. This tasbeeh will make a 100 percent worldly activity an ebadat. Try it and you will see how your life will be full of blessings of Allah.
Peace All

My Lord!
I conclude that your emphasis is on spending money wisely and giving charity and donations and that could be possible only after having enough money to spend in God's way.
