perhaps, when you become aware of what you never was, or something unexpected opens your eyes and heart to something teachable, or learnable.
when people recognize and become able to reckon with their insensitivity when they feel that there was sincerity they had, which they wasted.
bewilderment causes a break in the rush of selfishness.
ideally it should cause more than a break - it should enable the person to re group for patching where that person's actions created a void.
