Bananas have many good properties but there are other problems.

They are very starchy and those trying to lose weight or those who are diabetic may find the glycemic index too high. One a day as a rule is OK for most people as part of abalanced diet.

Also I read somewhere the banana as the reason for slipping in jokes and films was just a cover up for the real thing that make you slip on the road, after all how many of you have slipped on a banana skin?

Personally, I find naturally ripened bananas which have not been kept in cold storage the best flavoured. Ripe bananas are naturally the sweetest - not the hard ones which leave that funny feeling in your mouth.
