C. Forms of Attention:
Attention goes to what is excellent, and to continuousimprovement and progress toward achieving greater excellence.
Attention goes to what others have done, and are doing in one’s own field of interest. Whose performance or results do you have to match or exceed?
Who are the exemplars, role models, competitors, the ones to beat?
Attention goes to what would impress others.
Attention goes to winning and achieving, setting the standards, and “raising the bar.”
Attention goes to keeping whole systems in view, integrity, intuitions of wholeness, including ethics.
Attention goes to abstract design, modeling of essential elements and interrelationships.
Attention goes to what is practical, do-able, and methods to best achieve desired results. What works, what doesn’t, and why? An idea/proposition is considered as true as it can be applied.
**D. Qualities
- Virtues (+), positive, to be cultivated and enhanced:**
Responsible.
(Ideally, responsibility is the “ability to respond” appropriately and even masterfully to true need and spirit of the moment, which extends our ordinary-language meaning of the term. This extension requires intuition, instinct, and certain experience to operate.)

Ethical, integrous, impeccable.
Conscientious.
Constructive.
High standards.
Organized.
Orderly, methodical.
Applies self in learning and tasks.
Broad systems view.
Practical, makes things happen, gets results.

Collapses when realizing he can’t live up to own or others high standards, or hasn’t prepared well, or has over-sold and can’t deliver in a timely or integrous manner.
