They can kiss my shiny rear end, they ain’t winning :o . I will only watch this match to see if Pakistan experiments for the better and not for the worse (like Inzi going even further down the order for example ).

Face it. Only Younis, Yousuf and the inform Shoaib Malik can bat. everyone else gets out by 10, though Inzamam made 30 in the last one. He's only played one decent innings in the last year. It's just not enough for someone supposedly one of the better cricketers in the world. Hopefully Afridis return will do something. He's a good with the ball, and if his last innings in sa was anything to go by, inform with the bat. But the rest of them strike a modest total once in a blue moon, Nazir, Inzamam etc..Might as well just play Reema and m8 instead of them, the scoreline wont change much and the viewing will be more interesting.

Pakistan consider Akmal as opening option

The Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer said they may open with Kamran Akmal instead of Mohammad Hafeez to strengthen their batting order in the second match against Ireland on Sunday. The opening combination has been a worry for Pakistan in the last few months and they tried as many as nine pairs in the 20 matches leading up to the World Cup.
Imran Nazir scored 6 and Mohammad Hafeez 11 as Pakistan were beaten by 54 runs by West Indies on March 13. “Maybe Imran Nazir will continue to open, maybe Kamran Akmal could open and Hafeez will drop down,” Woolmer told Reuters. "We have to try and mix and match the team so we have eight batsmen and six bowlers.
“The point is if you play Kamran in that position we need to fit in one other opener. When [Shahid] Afridi comes back maybe he will open.” Akmal went in first in four ODIs on the tour of South Africa and scored only 22 runs.
Afridi, who is serving a four-match ICC ban, will be available for selection after the Ireland game. Pakistan are also missing Abdul Razzaq, who pulled out due to injury, and Woolmer said resources were being stretched.
“This is where someone like Razzaq would be good but we can’t deal with things we haven’t got,” Woolmer said. “I’m sure Shahid would also be useful to us but he cannot play until the Zimbabwe game. So we have to deal with the team we have. We are very fluid but most of all we have to make sure that we get our strategies right on the field.”

Akmal amy not be Gilchrist but he’s better than Hafeez.

I would laugh if we open with Nazir *and *Afridi. Now that would be interesting.

I agree tht both openers havent performed in first match matter of fact havent performed consistently for long time. But whts the point thn of taking those two,If you have taken them as specialist opener at least stick with them for group matches against minnow. If they gonna keep changing openers after every single match nobody will be confident of their place and even perform worst under pressure. What is woolmer gonna do if Akmal failed in next match....so lets try shoaib malik now.....oh he also failed....lets try afridi now.....oh my god afridi always fails.....back to nazir......

I think Inzi and woolmer should talk to both nazir and hafeez that we have trust in you that is why you guys are brought here now give you 100 % for team. If both can get support and confidence they can regain form against bowling attack of Ireland and Zim.

pak can afford to loose one more game and can be still in semi/quarter finals. coz of that draw match btw ireland and zimbabve

Everyone winning get 2 points more. There are 4 more matches in this group. So if Pakistan looses, they will be relying on WI to loose to one of IRE or ZIM as well.
Otherwise lights off …go home and eat parathey…

You are right. I posted yesterday that the "tied" match between the two minnows will work in Pak's favour, but on second thoughts it will not.
