I was listening to lecture, where they told that Allah’s name ‘Ghafoor’ is derived from Ghafr… Ghafr is a cloth (in Arabs), which covers head completely. So Ghafoor is one which hides your bad deeds… Same seems to be the meaning of Sattar (another name of Allah).
