12 years since 911, so whats the latest of the trial? Will US ever punish these people who they claim were responsible for thousands of deaths in the US?

even he was not trialed.
Re: 911 trial begins
In my opinion the trial should be conducted in a civilian court, although it would be difficult to get a balanced jury.
So maybe the case should follow that of the Lockerbie case which used Scottish law but was conducted in the Hague. However that trial was also deemed unfair by many. So maybe its not so simple after all.
Re: 911 trial begins
any update in this space as we are reaching the point where the war on terror is being wound down?

Any headway? Two and a half years since I opened up this thread.
Will Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and other 9/11 terrorists ever be tried? | Fox News

Each passing year without a trial compounds the anguish of the families of almost 3,000 victims. They expect and deserve justice, but are left wanting and disappointed by their government.
There is no good excuse.
The chief architect of the September 11 attacks has been in U.S. custody since he was captured while hiding out in Pakistan some 11 years ago. A key member of Usama bin Laden’s Al Qaeda organization, he is charged with war crimes and murder by an American military commission at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp. He is also exhibit A in proving the adage that the wheels of justice grind slowly. If at all. They need not.
