90-year-old railway bridge collapses

Daily Times Monitor

LAHORE: A 90-year-old Pakistan Railway footbridge connecting North Lahore to South Lahore collapsed soon after repairs were completed on Friday, a news channel reported.

The report said the bridge collapsed just an hour after repairs were done and the Railway Department reopened it for traffic. However, no casualties were reported. The department built the 500-foot bridge over the railway tracks to facilitate people travelling between the north and south of Lahore.

The Railway Department has formed a team to investigate the incident.
