KARACHI: People in Karachi have been facing a fresh wave of violence from the start of year 2011, as 90 people have fallen prey to separate gun attacks during the last 16 days.
Karachi, the economic capital of Pakistan, continues to remain in the grip of ethnic, political & sectarian violence for a long time now. Hundreds of innocent people have lost their lives in recent years.
In the first 16 days of January, 90 people, including 18 political activists, one journalist & a policeman became victims of target killings. But the last three days have witnessed the worst violence, claiming 37 lives.
wait till ANP/MQM/PPP supporters/ jiyalas/ bhais come and start blaming each other and if it goes wrong or one get nearer to get busted, they will collectively start blaming it on "agencies"
problem is no body wants to identify the real culprits and their motives. every one is scared. political parties want media to name the people behind it, and media says if politicians cant take names despite the security they have then how can they do it.
Neither anyone wants to take names, nor anyone wants to take hard steps to solve the problem.
army operation and de-weaponization are both eye wash.
Only if a single party ( i.e. PPP) comes in power then it will be able to fix the problem.
funny thing, all the parties responsible for the killings on the street are partners in power in the parliament.
karachi may need its own sadhu agashe ala ab tak 56.
