“Iran’s president sparked a mass walk-out by US delegates yesterday after telling a UN summit that most people believe the American government was behind the 9/11 attacks.”

btw here is an article on his speech .. where those losers who couldnt stand the truth walked out

http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/311854

Reporting on his speech, Iranian Press TVdid not mention the walk out, but chose to emphasize certain highlights of the speech. Ahmadinejad criticized military intervention as a method to achieve peace and freedom, spoke of the need for reform of the United Nations, criticized the killing of Osama bin Laden by the US, and raised his inevitable questions over the Holocaust. Speaking of the death of bin Laden he said**“Should not, through open trial of the prime suspect, have the elements providing the secure atmosphere for the invasive aircraft (attacks) on the (Twin) Towers (of the World Trade Center) been identified and introduced.” **
Ahmadinejad also accused the West of bullying, saying “They seek their progress, affluence and esteem in destruction, poverty, and humiliation of others.” **
In full swing he accused the West of considering themselves
“Superior to others and entitled to special and exclusive advantages and do not accord any value or right to others and allow themselves to tread upon the rights of all nations and governments**.”
According to the New York Times, King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa of Bahrain was one of the few delegates to stay and listen to the speech in its entirety. Relations between the two countries have been very tense during the year as Iran has been a vocal critic of the Bahraini suppression of protests, whilst Bahrain has accused Iran of provoking its Sufi population to protest.
Western governments condemned Ahmadinejad’s speech, with Mark Kornblau, the spokesman for the United States Mission to the United Nations, saying
**“Mr. Ahmadinejad had a chance to address his own people’s aspirations for freedom and dignity, but instead he again turned to abhorrent anti-Semitic slurs and despicable conspiracy theories.” **
(New York Times)
Meanwhile hundreds of people demonstrated the Iranian leader’s presence outside the UN whilst others congregated outside his hotel to protest.

Re: ‘9/11 was an inside job’: Full speech by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at UN

I think he keeps recycling the same speech, so who cares if it is this year or six years ago? :hehe:

Glad to see the typical fanboys of Iran show up. I get why the certain sectarian fanboys showed up in this thread, but why do we have this fanboy mentality in Pakistan? Why can’t we think that things can be grey?

Re: ‘9/11 was an inside job’: Full speech by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at UN

You know its so unprofessional for the other diplomats to leave like that when he is giving a speech. How rude and offensive. And what are the prinicpals of the “UN” to promote tolerance and freedom and democracy :rolleyes:

Not everything US or EU says is always true either.

Re: '9/11 was an inside job': Full speech by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at UN

It might be rude, but then he is badmouthing america and I think even chavez speech in the past might have caused a walkout. As far as tolerance, the guy is allowed to speak so what more do you want?

I don't think that is the problem in this thread or even in the forums generally.

Re: ‘9/11 was an inside job’: Full speech by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at UN

Pakistan and Iran are two different countries and Ahmadinejad would not be an answer to our problems. Still I appreciate the principles he operate by and highly admire him as a person. Here is a good article from BBCurdu as to most likely scenario if he was in our country خمینی چاہیے - BBC News اردو

Re: '9/11 was an inside job': Full speech by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at UN

ahmedinejad is a clown. he has nothing at stake. his country is surviving because of oil and almost very little else; between such clowns and the clerics, what was and should have been a highly prosperous and vibrant country has been reduced to being called 'better of the worst'.

hopefully he or his cleric bosses stop with this mouthing of idiocy and not get any worse ideas

Re: ‘9/11 was an inside job’: Full speech by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at UN

^actually Ahmadinejad has done very well in terms of his Economic policies and particularly the reformation of the public subsidies. Take a look at the IMF report that is out recently pointing out some of the key indicators;

Ahmadinejad has set the target of Iran to become the 12th largest economy in the world by 2015;

Re: ‘9/11 was an inside job’: Full speech by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at UN

@Pathan_Bhai - the key words are ‘high oil prices’. Iran being a top oil exporter, naturally their economy shows high effect of that. I do agree that they are making a start with subsidy reform but they should be doing a lot lot better in how they parlay the oil revenues to creat/expand other parts of the economy. Countries such as Germany, Russia, China and India have been and are willing to help in this effort but Ahmedinejad continues to make it difficult for these partnerships to work through his childish rants and erratic behavior.
