9/11: Isna Calls for a Day of Service

“But [since] good and evil cannot be equal, repel [evil] with something that is better and lo! he between whom and yourself was enmity [may then become] as though he had [always] been close [to you], a true friend.” (Quran 41:34)

ISNA calls for a Day of Community Service on 9/11/10. What will you do?

Re: 9/11: Isna Calls for a Day of Service

I have a better idea. Start a food pantry or soup kitchen in all the masajids of USA , UK and all other western countries.

Muslim doctors should hold free clinics at least once a month.

Also start free adult classes in Islamic schools .

Take all these initiatives and see how fast the perception of Muslims changes .

Great ideas.

There are numerous volunteer opportunities with Habitat for Humanity, women's shelters in the area.

Our masjid in MI as a part of community service - use to deliver Thanksgiving meals to the needy, host baby sitting services in the week of chistmas so people could shop and run errands.

great ideas, guys!

Mirch, there's already a free clinic in our Muslim Community Center. Those doctors do a lot of good work. I'll definitely donate to a soup kitchen too.

Nope. But you can still do community service!
