86 per cent think Pakistan headed in wrong direction

60-70% is still an overwhelming majority and just as much a cause for concern as 86%.

lol who in the last 8 or so years has been 'actively' bending over to facilitate their so called 'negative involvement'? And yeah, even if 86% is exaggerated, your 60-70% is more than enough for him NOT to shamelessly carry on.

Highlighted part is the actual deterrent from doing sins/bad-actions as I have mentioned that there are people who keep sinning even when they are praying 5 times with jamaat and on top of that they are praying in Haram Shareef.

Anyways, I don't want to divert the thread in different direction so I'll stop here, Jazakallahu khair.

and that is based on whose survey? :)

Why do you think Martial Law would change this course of failure mode? I think if Martial Law is imposed now, it will accelerate the disaster process, because it was military government led by Mush in 1999 to steer the country in failure direction. Before Mush, Yahya Khan, Ayub Khan and Zia-ul-Haq contributed disasters to the country in the past. Don't you think?

"pewasta reh, shajar se umeed-e-bahar rakh".

We Pakistanis continued to dream about this verse of Allama Iqbal for the last 61 years. I think now is the time pakistanis should stop dreaming and start some action by removing Mush and re-instating judges including CJ and realeasing national hero AQK. They should take matters in their own hands rather than fate decided by some one out side of the country. That won't be pleasant and in the end all will be losers.

Why should we reinstate a judge who took oath on PCO? Whether he himself was corrupt or not he is part of the same boot-licker camp who endorsed army rule when it suited him. If we really want sincere judges then we should look at judges who refused the first PCO, now thats some principle!

Simple, because the people, an overwhelming majority, want CJ Iftikhar back...

I agree with your later part of post. Those judges should also be retored and compensation should be paid to them for their truthfulness and honesty. As regard former CJ:

"Bhula basra jab sham to ghar lot ta hay to usay bhula basra nahin kehtay".

Not a single case of corruption against CJ was proved by Mush and he was forced to re-instate him. But due to fear of Mush's removal, he again sent CJ home and kept him under house arrest. No doubt earlier, CJ came through PCO but he made some historic decisions, very rarely seen in the history of Pakistan. You must give him due credit for that. He deserved to be CJ, NRO issued by dumb a$$ Mush should abrogated and all responsible in corruption including Mush, Zardari, Altaf, Aziz etc. should be tried in courts and punished. Why don't you want that?

But thats because of his "political" support, not necessarily based on principles.

It was principle-suicide by CJ to take PCO the first time around, once committed it is now part of our history. He can probably be awarded some title but to me he is as sinful as the new CJ/judiciary who took oath on 2nd PCO.

I completely agree with all that, NRO should be struck down and punishments should be doled out.

Danda Zindabad! :jhanda:

Zabardast,

Shabash hay aap ki soch par. India jo 61 years main Pakistan ko khatam nahin kar saka, yeh masala aap un kay ley chutklayon main hal kardaingay. Aafreen hay aap ko.:(

I dont buy that because the day he was removed, that was the day the whole country turned against Musharraf unanimously, without any political support. Even I was shocked, I thought it would be one of those little things that would be over with, like Bugti's death, but that proved to be the lethal blow the dictator's remaining popularity.

Our jarnaloon ko dandey kun marey ga?

But if you followed discoveries later the whole movement was financed/supported by political parites, it was not as if apolitical people came onto streets to demonstrate support for him.

Theres no proof about 'financial' support, but yes, the parties did support them, which was a very good thing. Without the support of the political leaders, media, and the people, this tahreek would have been crushed by the tyrant regime. Remember all the beating and extortion going on at that time? The army wallahs in civilians beating the hell out of protesters? They even arrested peacefully demonstrating teenage kids from reputed schools, including girls!

Let me ask you a question, assuming had he not taken oath under PCO the first time, who would have exposed government performance regarding people who were missing without any trace and other atrocities under the guise of war against terror, corruption committed by Mush government? You would have got only stamp CJ as present one working directly under the nose of this illegal president obeying all his illegal ordinances?

Don’t you agree that NRO issued by illegal president is worse than Iftekhar’s taking oath under PCO? Under NRO criminals like Altaf, Zardari and many others including Mush today are ruling Pakistan? Never heard of such thing in any civil county of the world where criminals are ruling. You have to look at broader picture rather than bias against former CJ.
