84% of Canadians consider the US wholly (15%) or partly (69%) to blame for Sept. 11

amazingly, 29 percent of canadians think the US is the biggest threat to world peace(the greatest percent), followed by Alqaeda 18%.

I sure love Jean Chretien. The guy has guts. Unfortunately it seems like Paul Martin is gonna take his place.

damn it, canadians are not with us, so they are with al-kaaaayda, lets bomb em.

:)

Although its a bit off topic, but let me use this thread for something Canada recently did...

The US (before this INS registration thing) knew that alot of its illegal population would turn to the Canadian borders. They asked Canada to sign a treaty in which they would have to return most of these 'refugees' and they would be dealt with in the US. Hence, Canada has also proven to be another US in the making when it comes to dealing with its illegal population. I was hoping they would welcome all the refugees, since they have in the past welcomed alot of immigrants to their country.

Notice that is Monsieur Chretian, the PM of Canada saying that, not some Muslim leader or group or such. The same sort of sentiments expressed by Chretian are growing across the western world, even in the UK. As time goes by people across the globe especially in in the non-Muslim will learn more and more about the events that led up to 9/11 and after.

Chretien is a bit of a national icon for the slow folks. His hetergenous french-english doesn't make him look like the articulate, well thought out leader either.

However, with these comments, the man did win a lot of respect and also got some bad press. But I followed the story quite closely and I can safely say that overall Chretien definitely got positive publicity out of these "hideous" comments. I have a lot of respect for my PM now.

Seminole, you raise a good point. But I don't why but I really doubt that anything offbeat is gonna be happeing in Canada. So, I really don't think we need be concerned with ifs and buts.

Frankly its that kind of arrogance that is making more and more people around the world turn against US policies. Not just people in Muslim countries and Canada, but also all across Europe practically, in Africa, East Asia and further.
