LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (Punjab chapter) Parliamentary Board secretary Raja Ashfaq Sarwar on Wednesday said that 800 intending candidates had applied for the party tickets.
He said the party tickets would only be given to the candidates who had stuck with the PML-N during the past eight years.
The elected candidates would be preferred and they would contest the elections from the constituencies they had won 2002 general elections, he added.
He said PML-N top leaders Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif would decide about seat-to-seat adjustments or an alliance with any party. Sarwar said the decision to boycott the general elections would be made at All Parties Democratic Movement’s platform.
He said the party would accelerate its election campaign once the matter on whether to take part in elections was decided.
Surprising that the parties which are not popular at all with the public are getting so many candidates for their seats. There must be a lot of people who would like to lose elections in Pakistan because in front of the 95% popular leader who can stand.
More surprising is the fact that dictator’s supporters are so happy that their illegitimate leaders rigged elections will be given some semblance of respectability by these parties participating.
Long live the rigged elections under the emergency. PML(Q) for 95% of the votes stuffed in ballot boxes.
No wonder Nawaz Sharif and his family are rushing back to Pakistan (as per the prepared script) to register for the elections before the deadline of 26th November. That promised boycott did not last long. :rotfl:
