i was searching some parenting stuff on net and i found this forum, Lucky me, So i thought to get some help so can anybody help me.
My baby wakes up several time almost every hour for milk… what do i do? please i need serious help. how to wean baby? when should i feed solid food at nigh, right before going to bed or earlier? i want to switch baby from breastfeed to regular milk or formula.
have you tried giving her a soother at night? i've read that sometimes they wake up more for the comfort of the breast than because they're hungry. plus at 8 months, she really shouldn't be hungry every hour anymore, i don't think... moms?
i'd say try feeding her dinner and giving her one nighttime feed a little later, and then putting her down with a soother.
i dont know.. whenever he wakes up i try to put him sleep again patting him but he start crying. but when i offer him milk in few minutes he went to sleep again.
anything?
i think GS moms are not interesting to help me in this matter.
Sabeena, I found my daughter, who had been sleeping through the night, would wake up constantly around 8 months. It wasn't milk tho. She just wanted to be with us -- it was separation anxiety. The minute we picked her up, she would be back to sleep. She didn't need milk. I'm just wondering if it's that, and he's really only using the milk to fall asleep and be close to you. The fact that he doesn't drink for long suggests he's not actually hungry. Try a pacifier. Or just picking him up until he calms down and then putting him back down. You could also try water, if you think he's thirsty.
Also, has your son ever had a bottle? If not, then train him on a sippy cup. If he does take a bottle, then maybe give formula at his last feeding, and see if that keeps him asleep longer (some say this happens, some say it does not).
In the US, most doctors say to wait until 1 year for regular cows milk. So you'd have to supplement with formula at this age.
He sleep with me on same bed. so obviously he dont miss me ofcource.
Yes in day time he take bottle like sometime i give him water or apple juice in bottle and now i really want him to switch on formula but whenever i try to give him formula in bottle he dont even take a single sip, dont know he dont like taste or smell. now please advise more what should i do?
Well, I think you should consider a different bed for him, a crib in your room, or something. I have also heard that babies can smell their mother's milk, which may wake him. As may your movements in bed.
Try giving him formula from a sippy cup. What country are you in? Can you consult your doc as well, about milk and formula intake?
