okay .. thats the story on which our neXt ‘pool’ tournament is counting on.
scenario: we setup the table for 8ball game, i was the one was breaking the triangle,
first ‘break’ hit: poolballs scattered ALL over table, none went in, YET the BLACK one went in..
<kinda like HOLE in one, if we bring golf in discussion>.. my question is, is this a win-in-first-hit or loss-in-first-hit .. 90% people present that time INCLUDING the owner of the facility where we played said “putting the BLACK <eight’ ball> in VERY first hit makes the game a WIN , ANYTHING after first shot, would be the loss ” ..
views, stories, comments, clarification, all is welcome..

The black(8ball) is NOT the object ball in the first break. It is the object ball on only one occasion..i-e, when one of the players has pocketed all his balls (solids or stripes). And that is clearly not the case in the first break, hence the black one is NOT the object ball. That being agreed upon, http://www.discountpoolcues.com/8_ball_rules.htm says that pocketing the 8-ball when it is NOT the legal object ball results in loss of the game. So you lose. Fork over the money
dang.. too late of a response.. yasir, me and other friends already played the next one yesterday.. CONSIDERING that HOLE IN ONE wala game was MY win.. khair, i won the tournament EVEN if this hole in one game would have been lost by me :-D..
