7th ODI - Windies vs India

So the stage is set for the final odi for the series with the teams
tied at 3-3..will it be again a run fest? will Windies clinch it ?

Technically Westindies should have already won the series. Leading the series by 4-2, not 3-3. Thanks to Mr Proctor who handed the home team an undeserving win.
Even if they loose tommorrow's match, they will still be the real winners. They came in this series without their best batsman, and a very young batting lineup, and with their star bowler Mervyn Dillon missing, they had all the odds stacked against them but they have performed marvelously.
Chris Gayle should be the man of the series.

Umpires will be a factor! (West Indies should be prepared for it.. well, who would know it better than windies themselves…)

I'm hoping they would keep the crowd out of it....sub continent crowds have always disappointed cricket lovers ..janwar salay!

I’m looking forward to the game…I think they should promote Dravid as the captain..he has the right attitude…Gangully (sp?) doesn’t look like a professional to me..he brings gally mohalla cricket/ bakwas to the ground… but nevertheless he is a good batsman. Also, I noticed that Srinath is not even medicore any more...the guy should quit with some respect..if he was given any to begin with.

humm... You very quietty ignored that India is also playing without there best batsmen Sachin,Saurav and their best bowler Zaheer...

What a pathetic analysis.

And stop crying about Baroda Match.. If pakistan would have scored 200 in 27 overs you would be dancing without your pants.

Best of luck to both sides and hopefully it will be a cracking match. Lets not get carried away as to who is missing and who is playing, players are missing from both sides and you play with the available resources. India's batting line up is so strong that the absence of Scahin and Sarav should not make a significant difference, or at least so we were being told in the last few months.

Haww hai. Dancing without pants?

Don’t worry Kareem thats normal with AQ he tends to lose track

Thats true. That is the reason that they have been chasing/making so many runs in each matche(thanks to pathetic bwling lineup that indian's have).infect indians missed Zaheer more than Sachin in these ODIs.
Anyway fact is that if someone tries to say that Windies is not with their best player then they shuldnot discount the fact that India is also without their best players. And that was my point.

Coming back to today's match.may the best team win . :)

OK

Y Singh In.

India 61/3 after 12.3 overs

13.1 Lawson to Dravid, OUT: pitched up delivery on the middle and leg, Dravid flicks it uplishly towards the short mid-wicket region, Sarwan dives to his right and takes a blinder! it's Lawson again!

India 67/4

India in trouble but they can still make it, with yuvraj, lexman, kaif and bangar.

well the 2 dangerous pair in, which took the match away frm england in the finals of the NATWEST!!!

Kaif n Yuvraj

India lost her fifth wicket in the shape of Mohd Kaif.

He made 10 runs

India: 99/5 after 18.5 overs.

lo, abhi abhi likha tha about the pair and Kaif is gone .....18.4 Collymore to Kaif, OUT: just short of a good length and outside the
off, punched off the back foot, the ball goes off the inside edge
and crashes onto the stumps, that is a crucial blow

Yuvraj Singh 25* (21b 4x4) CD Collymore 3.4-0-21-1 (1nb)

Kaif hasn't performed at all in the last few matches. Looks like he is out of form.

I guess Bangar and Yuvraj is the last hope for india, or is there anyone else to come in who can still take care of this?

*Blazing Samuels century takes Windies to 315 *

VIJAYAWADA, India (Reuters) - Marlon Samuels hammered a swashbuckling career-best unbeaten 108 as West Indies amassed 315 for six from their 50 overs in the deciding seventh and final one-day international against India on Sunday.

The 21-year-old Samuels launched a vicious attack in the final overs to prop up the total after Ramnaresh Sarwan (83) and Wavell Hinds (58) had rescued the visiting team from 16 for two.

Jamaican Samuels struck 10 fours and five sixes in his 75-ball knock as he smashed India's bowlers at will, including Javagal Srinath for 21 runs in one over, and helped his team raise 120 off the last 10 overs.

He raced to his maiden one-day century, off only 73 balls, in the 50th over with a single to mid-wicket.

West Indies had started shakily with opener Chris Gayle getting a life in the second over when he was dropped by Sanjay Bangar at slip off medium-pacer Ajit Agarkar.

Javagal Srinath removed Gayle soon after for five, when he drove uppishly to Mohammad Kaif at cover.

Left-hander Shivnarine Chanderpaul, promoted to number three, fell for six when he tried to loft Agarkar over the infield and managed only to lob a catch to Murali Kartik at mid-off.

West Indies were in dire straits on 16 for two but Hinds and Sarwan rebuilt the innings with some sharp running between wickets.

Hinds pulled Agarkar to the mid-wicket fence for his first boundary and then drove him through the covers in the same over.

Sarwan intentionally slashed Srinath over the slip cordon for four and exquisitely cut left-arm spinner Kartik to point.

Hinds raised his 50, off 56 balls, cutting occasional spinner Virender Sehwag for four. India won the last match at Jodhpur to level the series 3-3.

He was finally out for 58, clean bowled by Sehwag when he tried to flick a faster ball to the mid-wicket region. Sarwan took over, bringing up his fifth one-day half-century and hitting spinners Kartik and Sarandeep Singh for boundaries.

Guyanese Sarwan departed for 83 when Agarkar trapped him lbw with a ball that nipped in sharply from outside off.

But just when it seemed India were clawing back into the game, Samuels launched his onslaught and took West Indies to a commanding total. The series is tied 3-3.

Once again Indian bowling let them down. They desperately need not only Zaheer to come back but also need to find a few decent bowlers.
