Another horror........... all 3 major cities in Pakistan targetted.

Re: 7th December. Blasts in Peshawar and Lahore

“Every person living in Peshawar is psychologically in depression”.

BBC News - Peshawar residents live in fear of bombs

Very sad. All these bombs going off … it will psychologically affect everybody, especially the kids who will grow up in fear.

Re: 7th December. Blasts in Peshawar and Lahore

has any party claimed the responsibilities.

Re: 7th December. Blasts in Peshawar and Lahore

As a guy who was born in Lahore, I have to say that this stuff makes my blood boil. Until and unless Pakistanis overcome their mass delusions and stop blaming Amreeka, Da Joos and Indians and accept the fact that generations of Pakistanis have grown up in an environment saturated with bigotry, superstition, conspiracy theories, and anti-semitism, nothing will change!

The government needs to liquidate the murderous scumbags and all those who sympathize with them!

Re: 7th December. Blasts in Peshawar and Lahore

so far Karachi, Multan, Faisalabad has been spared....most of the violence has been concentrating in Peshawar, Rawalpindi/Islamabad and Lahore...

Re: 7th December. Blasts in Peshawar and Lahore

^Karachi has had its fair share already in the 90s.........when the Shias were used as practice targets by the Jihadi outfits...........i remember a period hen there was hardly a week went by when we did not have to lift taboots.......

Suicide Bombings across Pakistan......

...or is it across Punjab and NWFP?

While this may raise a few eyebrows on this forum, one cannot help notice the fact that for the past so many months, we have seen one suicide bomb after another in cities like Lahore, Pindi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Swat etc.......but none in Karachi....none in Sindh. Is the security really that 'good' in Karachi? Or does this have another meaning?

Of the theories that have floated regarding Karachi being spared the latest spate of suicide bombs...
1. Taliban seniors are based in Karachi, and they dont want to bomb their 'own' city.
2. The ruling parties (PPP and MQM), both with a questionable track record, are orchestrating this, in order to destabilize Punjab, and wrest it away from PML-N.

The nature of suicide attacks has been varying as well. Most of the taliban attacks that we have seen have been made against military gatherings, whether its a convoy, a brigadier's car, GHQ, army mosque or Ordnance Factory. Most of the suicide attacks against civilian targets, like the market blasts in Peshawar that killed more than 100 2 weeks ago, are followed by taliban denials.
While nothing is set in stone, fact is, the series of bombings in Punjab is fairly questionable, and has some heavy internal involvement. Not everything can be attributed to the taliban/alqaida/india. Even if these elements are externally responsible, fact is, someone on the inside has a huge interest in destabilizing Punjab.

I am pretty sure our intelligence agencies are fully aware of this. Question is, why arent they taking any definitive action? My guess is, that any definitive action will probably result in the toppling of the federal government, and put the military in a bad spot. And this military top brass doesnt seem to be interested in running the country, which is a good thing. But at the same time, can they afford to sit and watch all this carnage taking place every day?

Well said...

Re: 7th December. Blasts in Peshawar and Lahore

They were not only shias, they were people from all walks of life.

This is extremely sad and depressing. I wonder if our government is ever going to do anything to control this situation....

Re: 7th December. Blasts in Peshawar and Lahore

^of course I am not saying that all the target were exclusively Shias..........but mainly it was Shias and the Barelvis.........more than 80% of the mosques that got attacked were those belonging to the Shia sect.........u r welcome to check the statistics.......
