I just get irritated when people think Swahili is spoken all over Africa. When there are like 100s of indigenous languages.

I don't recall reference to "72" hoors, I think that comes from ahadith.

There are differences of opinion regarding the number of Hoors a Jannati will receive. In the most authentic Ahaadith, the following numbers are mentioned.

1. Two (Bukhari / Muslim)

2. Seventy two (Tirmidhi)

3. Five hundred wives, four thousand virgins and eight thousand previously married women. (Bayhaqi)

Hafiz ibn Hajar [ra] mentions one interpretation that the minimum number of wives a person will have is two. Another interpretation is that the number two is also used in the Arabic language to show quantity or the greatness of something. Thus, the meaning here is not to fix an exact amount or limit. (Fathul Baari vol.6 pg.400)

Mulla Ali Qari [ra] mentions that the best interpretation is that the two wives mentioned in this Hadith refer to the women of the world. Therefore, seventy from the hoor and two from human being. (Mirqaat vol.9 g.600)

72 hoorsss.....plz ...its a idiotic myth.....who ever came up with this crap must have had plenty of time to kill....if there is any reality in it....then o boy.. guys r in deep sh*T...we cant handle one woman in this world ,they expect us to take care of 72..... thats not a reward .....its a punishment...

Thanks! From what I gather the first two seem authentic as one is from “Bukhari” and the other from “tirmizi” two of the books mentioned in sah-e-sitah.

So the idea of naked promiscuous women that the history channel portrayed was a concocted picture of Islam, because of what ever ulterior motive they hold.

khuda ki panah, if this is the number of women I hafta deal with in janat then I might as well just go to jahanum. this is false advertising, kis mein himmat hai itni khawateen say sarr khapannay ki.

mye life has taken a 180 degrees turn right now.

I hafta go and make some changes cuz who knows when my time is up, and this new revelation here completely changed my outlook.

In case someone is looking for me, I will be at the strip bar by the airport gulping my ham sandwiches with some beer.

its not a punishment mr.mauli its jannah and everything is suppose to be good so how can 72 hoors give u a hard time ,think again before speaking because in jannah every thing is perfect and we cannot challenge ALLAH's commands.

I just dont get it ...why ppl act so naive...these words cannot be GOD's words that God is telling a man that if he would die in his path ....he'll be given Women ( Virgin Women) in reward......
