What we have to lose? Army and disintegration of the country. Its hard to say what out weighs what given that army's sincerity/integrity is questioned by public.
Thats going to happen if you dont do anything... The Taliban movement is strong enough to cede from Pakistan...
Personally, I would rather see us losing the Tribal areas if the opposite means settling for a mini state ruled by Taliban and Al Qaeda terrorists... And lets not fool ourselves, the day Pakistan gives up on fighting for its own country is the day Americans or NATO come in and take matters into their own hands.

so how do you want the army to respond when a tribal terrorist blows himself up killing 140 people?
As I said earlier... army needs to cleanse itself first, we have to get rid of extremist sympathisers from army first, without that we can't achieve much other than an air strike here and there.
