In spite of the crushing victory on Sunday, the Indian camp is pretty upset that most of their specialist batsmen did not get to bat! They have taken objection to and have lodged an official complaint against the Pak team, Yuvraj and Dhoni, with the PCB. In the complaint they allege that the Pak players in collusion with Y&D, conspired to get free batting practice - Players like Raina Khaif Powar etc alleged that while they had to slog and run and field and bowl the entire Pak inning, they themselves didn’t get to hit a single ball.
The fact that Sachin Tendulkar and Irfan Pathan weren’t made to field by ‘conveniently’ excluding them from the playing 11, added some weight to the allegations.
Pooh(!)Poohing the very idea of consipray, Pak kaptan Inzy-Ul_Haq said “our boyz playing but hard. India outplayed but our boyz in played.”.
Bob Woolmer the Pak coach said it was all part of the strategic plan to prepare the team but importantly the Pak public for what’s to come in the world cup. He said "the English series that we won has set such high expectations that we thought it is necessary to …(unclear beep) "
Imran Khan said “I am late for my flight but Woolmer should consider opening the inning; it will get him the closest seat to watch what Butt is doing wrong and offer appropriate coaching right there in the pitch”.
Asked what he thought of Imran’s suggestion, Woolmer said “I have great respect for Imran but a senior player such as him should know that when Pakistan and India play, I cannot tell who is who. All of them look so tall dark and handsome”.
The 6th ODI promises to be the most exiting and certainly the latest to look forward to. Dravid will look to consolidate his gains so that he can use Ganguly’s plane ticket for Wasim Jafri (Air Sahara announced earlier that they’ll waive the transfer fee). Inzamam will certainly be thinking about the tikki masala and praying that Shoab Aktar will get injured in cheper home made shoes instead of 500K Nikes custom made.
