Nuclear assets made pakistan safe from direct confrontation with India, because it can be mutually devastating and it is one big thubs up, biggest loss is loss of east pakistan, which in a way was the result of politics between Yahya Khan,ZAB and Mujib with super Indira factored in:)

But confrontation with Bengalis goes back to earlier days of Independence. I personally don’t agree with the notion that biggest achievement of Pakistan is its nuclear assets. The way it survived in its earlier days (without those assets), when it was lacking basic infrastructure, is the proof for that.
