there are hadiths that say the month of Shawaal has 6 blessed fasts.
does anyone has more information on them?
Ref
Abu Ayyub (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "He who observes As-Saum (the fasts) in the month of Ramadan, and also observes As-Saum for six days in the month of Shawwal, it is as if he has observed As-Saum for the whole year.‘’[Muslim].
Re: 6 Fasts of Shawwal every Mon and Thurs from today until Nov 20th
6 random days in shawwal, they dont have to be mondays or thursdays, nor do they need to be consecutive days....
just any 6 days in shawwal, except the 1st of shawwal ofcourse....
Re: 6 Fasts of Shawwal every Mon and Thurs from today until Nov 20th
To the best of my knowledge, the ones you make up don't count as the ones for Shawwal. I believe you're required to make up the ones missed first then proceed to fasting six for Shawwal.
Re: 6 Fasts of Shawwal every Mon and Thurs from today until Nov 20th
Sadiyah,
thanks for sharing your knowledge; obviously people can tell between fasts that are kaza and fasts that are kept originally at designated months for their blessed ness.
also, men do not make up fasts for lack of periods if that is what you mean.
besides, periods are something which is an involuntary normal phenomenon per women's physiology during reproductive age range.
i dont think that having periods, or nursing or carrying a baby, makes women any less religious or able to have a worshipping position, except for a God given-break, to feel less physical strain, & most women are all glad for that, i suppose.
as Muslims, Shwaal's 6 blessed fasts apply to men, as well as women.
Re: 6 Fasts of Shawwal every Mon and Thurs from today until Nov 20th
I don’t think I mentioned men anywhere or that women who miss fasts are somehow less religious. To the best of my knowledge, when a woman is menstruating and is unable to pray, she’s given the reward of praying as she would be under normal circumstances.

Does it have to be on Monday and Thursday?
Also I heard that for women if she fast during shawal these 6 fasts they can be a make up of her missing fasts during Ramadhan due to periods. She will get double rewards (the missing ones during Ramadhan and for fasting in shawal). Allah :swt: knows best.
