I really want to buy some 6/8 chooriya/bangles before the gold price goes even higher, can anyone tell me the price I can expect to pay in Pakistan. I dont want very eleberate ones but ones I could wear all the time.
If anyone has purchased any recently then I would be really grateful if you could post the pics and give me an aprox price, I have been waiting for the past two years for the gold price to go down but there seems to be no reductions and I dont want to spend the money I have saved on other things.

wow. u shudnt have waited that long, i m sure 2 yrs ago the gold price was still alot less than what it is now. khair as for bangles, well it depends do u only want the plain gold ones or the ones with some gems? a decent bangle would be atleast half a tola each so if you want 6/8, that would mean it wud cost you around 3/4 tolas + the making + cost of gems, if any.
Today's gold rate for 24-karat is Rs. 56,400.
So if we are going for half a tola bangle each (no gem), then for 6 bangles it would cost you;
Gold (3*56,400)+ Cost of Making+ Cost of Gems
So if you go for plain gold bangles (no gems), then i guess they would cost you around 2 lakhs 20 thousand or so. Roughly estimated as the cost of making would vary according to the design you select.
Zareen Jazak-Allah for ur response I am very grateful for the info. No I definitely don't want gems (I do but can't afford it) so just want plain ones. I'm trying to do the conversion for 2 lakh 20 thousand pk rupees in pound sterling. does anyone know what the average charge for labour is in PK because if the current gold rate is 56400 Pkr (per tola) then that would be around £1616 for 4 tola (might be able to get 8 bangles if each bangle is about half tola 5g). i just want to get prepared as im going to ask an aunty in pk to try get them for me.
im also looking for bangle sets and ive learned a few things. ive heard that here abroad, the gold jewelry available comes from other countries such as dubai, india, singapore and others. Now im not sure if this is a myth or a fact, but its said that gold jewelry made in those regions guarantees more purity vs what is made in pakistan. Now im not a pro in zevar or its making, but with gold being at record highs, i think everyone deserves to get the most out of their money.
also confirm the weight before you make any calculations because 1 tola doesnt go a long way, esp since we're talking about bangles. Not sure where you're located, but try to check out some local jewelers to compare before you order from pakistan.
Somakomal i live in the Uk and the cost of gold is far to high what with 22% VAT and labour cost. Plus i really like to quality of workmanship in Pakistan but just dont know how much to expect to pay for labour cost on PK.

I have read similarly. Go to a trusted store so that you don't buy gold mixed with crap (esp at these prices). And keep your receipts!
I ended up not buying bangles because they are very heavy in weight usually. I did pick up a nice pair of earrings and mang tikka that came from my husband's family.
I would lyk 2 suggest u sumthg … plz dont buy any Gold 4m Pak , as itz nt xceptable outsyd Pak … I m from Muscat & recently my mother sold sum Gold which she bought from Pak (one of the very good shop) last year …
Here in Muscat, most of the Jewellers said stright “No” that they dont buy any Gold which z 4m Pak
Fortunately we found one Jeweller, but he told us that more than Gold there’s sum oder metal,mixed , and he paid us almost nthg
