6.1-magnitude quake hits off western Indonesia – USGS
An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale jolted the sea region off Sumatra, Indonesia at 0542 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 29 km, was initially determined to be at 2.141 degrees north latitude and 96.418 degrees east longitude, 269 km west of Sibolga, Sumatra, Indonesia.
