Ok, my question here to cricket experts, mA we hv got so many!
Wut if Pakistan is asked to bat second in the next match??!! We have seen that bowling second has really helped in 3rd and 4th ODI. And if english bowlers will be doing the same, they'll be getting good help as well.
Wut strategy should Pak make for this situation?

Pakistan have traditionally not chased well in ODIs. so once again the onus is on the bowlers to keep the english total down to as minimum as possible

Win the toss score 250 and win the match as simple as that

One more thing.
I might sound a bit stupid right now but we can't keep bringing Razzler so low down the order. Why is he batting with the tail always? He's just too good to waste down the order. What an innings today, Razzler just tore Anderson and Bresnan to bits today but you cant expect him to do that in every game

^ Razzler does it most of the times towards the end of the innings as responsibility is less to hold the wicket and okay to take risks. Can't take the same risks in overs 30-40.

Agreed with Captain. I know it can be tempting to bring Razzak up the order but that has been tried bfore and as far as I remember it did not work out. He does well in the end when theres nothing to lose and just smack smack smack. If he comes in at 130/3 he is not the same player. It's a shame because it's not like he is a blind slogger. He hits good cricketing shots so by that logic he SHOULD be able to perform up the order. But he hasn't for some reason.
SID is correct in pointing out that it will be a completely different story if Pak has to chase. They consistently fail at that. Fail by good margins too.

yes... they can win it..anyone CAN win it.. I am only talking about how it's gone down in the past.. the chasing problem is in TESTs too not only ODIs... in ODIs its not just that they cant chase.. its also that they wont have the same level of reverse swing going for them.. those two factors combined.. pak's best chance is to bat first...

That has always been a problem with Pakistan team, chasing has been poor since i have been watchign Pak cricket. The reason is lack of a good anchor batsman who can convert 50s to 100s.
@GA, it was some English commentator i think or Dean Jones who said Razzaq has only two gears 1 and 4. He is not the type of batsman to bat through 15-20 overs accumulating runs, he will either block or slaughter. His best use will be in batting powerplay, Afridi shud take one, whenever Razzaq is out there.
BTW Razzaq has played similar innings while chasing also, i think it was T20 against England in world cup where he finished off the match in similar fashion.

Pakistan's 50 came in the 11th over in the 4th ODI. By contrast England reached theirs in the 8th over. I appreciate that Pak were trying to preserve wickets early on but that's very slow going by modern day standards. Need to make better use of the 1st PP in my opinion

Come on Pakistan, play like you did in the last two ODI’s and make us proud. A series win will be the sweetest revenge against the Englsih gutter press.
I still hold the English players in high regard for two things:
Despite all the allegations surrounding and the pressure they must have felt they behaved in a very professional manner (Trott aside)
The main reason, they contributed their match fees for the flood victims.
Having said that I would love to see a series win to finish this tour.

^ right on ehsan. the english players and the ecb should be praised for how they have handled this. they have been very reasonable abt things. they are pissed only now that butt has talked out of his butt once again.
Asif.. I think Kamran Akmal is the only one who can use the 1st PP well top of the order.

iA the team can finish the tour on a high, now that the team are in the ascendancy they'll be confident of getting the win, i just checked online, that england's record in a day/night match is awful, just 32% of matches they've won.

While batting…avoid high shots…
While bowling…work for every ball a wicket taking delivery…hmmmmmmmm
