58 die in militant-security border clash

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

You can not seal the AfPak border. It's mostly mountainous.

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

What does this “opinion” from Jang about Mehran base attack has to do with this border clash?

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

wow attack again today, hundreds of taleban and this is the third day of this! Still no Nato, and ISAF forces trying to stop them on the afghan border.

Hundreds besiege Upper Dir border area for third day

PESHAWAR: Hundreds of militants on Friday again besieged a Pakistani area on the Afghan border, shortly after troops claimed to have regained control after fighting killed 34 people, police said.

“Militants have attacked again. There are hundreds of them. They have besieged the area and torched a government school,” regional police chief Qazi Jamilur Rehman told AFP, saying that they had attacked from Afghanistan.

Rehman said reinforcements and helicopter gunships had been moved into the Nusrat Darra area in the northwestern Upper Dir district of troubled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in order to quell the attack.

The area is around 10 kilometres from the Shaltalu checkpost which was destroyed by militants in two days of intense fighting, killing 28 policemen and six civilians.

Police said up to 45 militants were also killed in those clashes, which started on Wednesday, but the information could not be confirmed independently as the bodies were not left behind on the battlefield.

Police earlier Friday told AFP that Shaltalu was under control.

“The area is in complete control of our troops. We have started a search operation,” Rehman had told AFP.

Rahim Gul, another police official at the nearby Barawal police station, confirmed the latest attack.

After the first clash, Pakistan Wednesday conveyed “strong concern” to the Afghan ambassador to Islamabad, calling for “stern action” by Afghan and US-led Nato troops to crack down on militants in eastern Afghanistan.

Shaltalu and Nusrat Darra are surrounded by mountains and forest, about six kilometres from the border with Afghanistan’s Kunar province.

Upper Dir is part of Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and borders the region where the military waged a major offensive to put down a local Taliban insurgency in Lower Dir, Buner and Swat in 2009.

Thousands of Pakistanis have died in bomb attacks over the last four years and thousands more soldiers have been killed fighting home-grown militants.

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

And Immi bhai think he can reconcile with people like these.
If he continues with such policies then he will end up like Khalid Khwaja, another famous Taliban-apologist.

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

Is Pakistan responsible for finishing them off in Afghanistan too? and is its Pakistan's responsibility to stop the flow of taleban from Afg to Pak?

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

We cant even seal the PNS Mehran base border, let alone pak-afg border!

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

^ right

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

Afganistan and NATO can ask you the same question: Why pakistan is not stopping Haqqani and Mullah Umar who enter afghanistan from Pakistan and kill Afghan/NATO soldiers and afghan civilian on the daily basis?

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

Saudis are not dictating any governance to the government, they are dictating militants while government is outsourced to US/NATO.

It can be sealed, its not done only because Afghanistan resists the sealing and US agrees with Afghanistan.

Where was NATO/US when warlords were killing each other and civilians in Afghanistan?

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

So you are accepting the fact that Pakistan is not stopping militants entering Afghanistan and at the same time expect NATO to stop militants entering Pakistan from the west of the Durand line.

Also, no body will be allowed to seal Durand line, the Pashtun tribes on both side are one family, they have intermarriages, they visit each other on the daily basis. And specially Pak army is not capable of sealing the Durand line, they are only good for killing their civilians and their journalists.

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

hold on, on one side you are saying Pakistan is not capable of sealing the durand line while on the other hand you are saying Pakistan is not stopping militants entering Afghanistan from Pakistan side, what exactly is your view? Lets come clean on that first. Secondly when India Pakistan border was sealed that many families were divided, so why is it a problem if Pak-Afgh border is sealed? Don't forget East-West Germany was divided for decades, I am sure there are many other examples of such borders separating families.

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

or iran

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

The answer is simple the border is porous and its not possible to completely seal the border off, as Americans keep on demanding answers from Pakistan and asking it to do more what have the Americans and NATO achieved in Afghanistan in 10 years or so?

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

Adopt rules from NATO playbook and bomb them in afghanistan.

OH I FORGOT, this is Pakistan that can stand up to no one.

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

It was Pakistani Taliban.

Pakistani Taliban Claim Responsibility for Cross-Border Attack

Funny thing is that Imran Talibani wants to negotiate and reconcile with Pakistani Taliban, and calls their terrorism just a reaction of drone attacks. On the other hand most Pakistanis consider Pakistani Taliban to be American/Indian creation. And yet these same people wholeheartedly support Imran when he calls for dialog with Taliban.

What a hypocrisy.

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

Yes it was Pakistani taleban that means when Pakistan carried out operations in Swat, Dir and Bajaur some of them moved to Afghanistan and still live there. That means there are sanctuaries related to enemies of Pakistan (Maulvi Faqir, Maulvi Fazlullah etc) in Afghanistan and US is doing nothing about that, they are quick to launch drone attacks in Pakistan, why no drone attacks on these sanctuaries?

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

How is Pakistan government outsourced to Iran?

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

And this is exactly why I wondered that Imran wants to reconcile with such enemies of Pakistan.
Really pathetic of him.

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

Your comment was about the "theka" of our country getting outsourced.
In reality, Saudis have bigger control on our country than Americans. They themselves admit that they are players in Pak politics. And they are the ones who are responsible for destruction of Pakistan.
So this comment about our country's theka is more applicable on Saudis rather than Americans.

Pakistan raises this issue only to settle the border. Reality is that mountains can not be sealed.

Re: 58 die in militant-security border clash

so pakistani gov is outsourced to saudia?
