It is very funny situation in Pakistan. Since this clause (58 2B) was added to the constitution, all who was ever in government (BB or NS) use to talk against this clause and wanted to get rid of it. As for those in opposition, they always favoured this clause and wanted that to stay so that one in power could be kicked out. Actually, when NS got two-third majority in Assemblies, he got rid of this clause on first opportunity.
Anyhow, today table is turned. Parties in government wants this clause to stay even though this clause affects only those in power and favours opposition, as when acted upon, it gives a chance to opposition to win election and come in power. Hence those in opposition were never worried of this clause and never wanted this clause to go (actually, while in opposition, they loved this clause). But today parties in opposition wants this clause to go, and seems they hate this clause. What a change in this last 5 years of Musharraf rule. It seems Pakistan politics has turned upside down.
Article 58-2B was restored by the LFO & 17th Amendment to the constitution. That is why BB has been insisting it being repealed again, as she does not want this sword hanging over her head.
A lot of others were also added to the Presidential powers by Musharraf, like barring a 3rd term PM.
