AMAGASAKI, Japan (Reuters) - A crowded Japanese commuter train derailed Monday and crashed into an apartment building, killing at least 50 people and injuring hundreds in the country’s worst rail accident in over 40 years.
As night fell, workers were struggling to rescue people trapped in crumpled wreckage and twisted metal in the first-floor car park of the building.
Fire department officials said at least four people traveling in the front car of the train were believed to be alive in the wreckage.
The building, in a suburb of Osaka city, was just six meters (20 feet) from the railway track.
Officials said they did not know the cause of the crash, which took place shortly after the morning rush hour. But passengers said they felt the train, which had been late leaving the previous station, had been moving faster than normal.
About 300 people were taken to hospital, a police spokesman said. It was not known if the injured included anyone from the apartment building, he said.
Five of the train’s 7 cars derailed in the accident. The train was carrying about 580 passengers.
Rescuers in hard hats clustered near the twisted remains of the front two cars, one of which had been smashed to less than half its normal width, using cutters and ladders to get inside.
Very sad news indeed and also well done to the moderators for deleting the trashy comments made by the usual idiots from the states who though it was funny to make jokes about people dying in a train crash .
May I bring in the all those innocent Amreekis that were killed just a few years back and what did we get, oh palestinians dancing in the streets shooting AK47s (define Irony) in the air (I guess thats why they always miss perfect targets).

When stray dogs run after you like a pack of wolves you can only run enough, after a while you realize it’s either them or us, so you will pick a stick or whatever and beat the crap out of the dogs till they disperse. In this example we have used stray dogs to imply Palestinians (root of all evil since biblical times).

But back on the subject of Japanese Train accident. It was a tragic thing, a similar accident happened today in SriLanka, I wonder if it was RAW/Tamil Nadus.
It may not been insult to Islam, its def. an insult to the victims and their loved ones. A tragic accident in Japan, how is relevant to amreekis or Israelis? is your mind stuck in a rut or is it your ego thats too big?

Apparantly a day before the accident the same train driver failed to stop at a station. This hits close to home since I used trains in Japan regularly for a year.
at least your comment is relevant to the topic. It is very surprising that this happened but this is the first major crash in 40 years in japan so it is still has a good safety record no amount of safety wil guarntee there will be no accidents when your ajal is up angel of death will be sent and then your life will be taken.
