What I find most disturbing about this is their age … they are just babies. At that age (late teens, early 20s), most people don’t even know who they are … To leave a farewell video, which sounds incriminating from its description for their families back in the U.S. … how do these young men get sucked into doing jihad?

**Five young Americans held in Pakistan on suspicion of plotting attacks have been indicted on terrorism charges, their lawyer has said. **
The five men, aged 18 to 25, denied the charges at a court in a jail in the eastern city of Sargodha.

They were arrested in the city in December on suspicion of trying to contact al-Qaeda-linked groups.

The five face life imprisonment if found guilty. Pakistan earlier barred their deportation to the US.

The men have claimed they were tortured in custody, and that US officials directed the abuse, but prison officials have denied the accusations.

The US embassy in Islamabad, which has also dismissed the allegations, confirmed that an American consular official attended Wednesday’s hearing.

Journalists were not allowed in, but afterwards defence lawyer Shahid Kamal told journalists: “Charges have been laid against all the accused,” reports AFP news agency.

“All these charges are terrorism related. The offences are punishable by life imprisonment. All the accused unanimously rejected them.”

The five young Muslims disappeared from the US state of Virginia in November.
Their families reported them missing after finding a farewell video message, which is said to have shown scenes of war and calls for Muslims to be defended.

Prosecutors and police have alleged the men were plotting attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan and had sought links with extremists.

Officials say the men were planning to travel to Afghanistan to fight alongside the Taliban.

But the accused have denied any links to al-Qaeda and insist they wanted to go to Afghanistan for charity work.

Two of them are Pakistani-Americans, while the remaining three are said to be of Eritrean, Ethiopian and Egyptian origin. All of them have US passports.
The next hearing is scheduled for 31 March, when prosecutors are expected to produce evidence.

2 of them are American Pakistani from Virginia .... the other 3 are non-Pakistani, but all have American passports.

I want to know how are these young kids lured into this? Cause a lot of us are parents, or will be parents soon, and we need to protect our kids from brainwashing. Or at least find ways to get through to them if they get sucked into these kinds of groups.

This is a good question.

And the answer is very very complicated.

The core of this madness lies with the fact that

============== Islam Khutray main hai.

Who bombards them with this cr@p.

---- Lose mouthed parents and family members.
---- Pakistani community from taxi drivers all the way to professors sit in mehfils and harp on falacie such as: Islam was the greatest system, Americans (gora) destroyed it, now Americans are killing Muslims, so the youth must go out and hunt down Americans.
---- Mosques and Maulvis who constantly spread false impressions about long-defunct Khalifa system.

So if you don't want your kids to become Jihadis, your work is cut out for you. It would be impossible to stop our young boys to become Jihadis.

young boys in Pakistani educated class have the same problems though. Why else shamans and magicians like Zaid Hamid would be so successful in filling out big halls with eager listeners.

People who read history, can easily correlate this fiasco, with the Khalifah movement of 1920s and 1930s of British India. Back then, majority of educated Indian Muslims committed a collective suicide by marching on to Kabul, under the same Mullahtic propaganda that Islam Khutray main hai.

It was tragic and comic to see the real Khalifas from Turkey trying desperately to rid themselves of islamist yoke, while these Indian Muslims were forcing them to put that yoke back on.

In the end educated Indian Muslims lost their property, their education, their future, and many cases their lives, while leaving their bewildered parents in the lurch.

After burning the future and the youth of Indian Muslims, Mullahs went back to eating halwa in the lap of Indian Congress.

Who were the saviours of Indian Muslims back then? Secular and Westernized leaders such as Sir Syed, Sir Iqbal, and Jinnah.

But all these saviors were declared Kafir by the Mullahs and the Islamists.

Just like then, even now, anyone who talks against Mullahs, is being banned, and declared Kafir.

No wonder there is no Sir Syed, No Sir Iqbal, and No Jinnah. We have killed or banned our Westernized leaders and westernized youth.

The future of Pakistani educated elite doesn't look good. We are shooting ourselves in our feet. And sadly we are heading towards anarchy in Pakistan on a much bigger scale than the one experienced by Islamic jannats of Afghanistan, Somalia, Yemen, or worse liberia, Sierra leon or other primitive tribal societies of Africa and Middle East.

Pakistan should not come under pressure from US to deport these guys..As they were held in paksitan...these guys should be tried in Pakistan
