I heard of 2.4ghz work pretty well. I have also seen some 5.8ghz, anyone tried any of these? what is the range on them ? Is there anything higher then that?
Why do you need so much GigaHertz? I mean, practically. Unless, ofcourse, you live in a mansion with acres of ranches around your home where you'd like to take your cordless phone with you.
lets say i have a farm house and i need a good cordless to walk around 10 acres of land.
Buy a cell phone.
I have a uniden 5.8 but never tested its range. A friend of mine has the same exact one in his dorm room, he takes it to the dining hall, about 5 floors down, works fine... No static at all.
i have couple cellphones but during day time i prefer using the cordless.

i dont think the 5.8 GHz is going to have a higher range. in all likelihood it might be lower than that of a 2.4 GHz one.
that said, you will almost never find ANY interference on your 5.8 GHz phone from your neighbours phones or whatever. unless you live in a crowded colony, i'd think you should be happy with the cheaper 2.4 GHz one..
and you wont get a cordless phone that'll work while u walk around 10 acres of land. you could get some wireless in local loop set ups cheap though..
Q, do you have to sound like a nerd all the time? Listen to your self..5.8 mhz..loop, ghz.. you sound like a UKP.
