5,700 BHD = 15,159.57 USD for Flood Victims

:salam2:

STAFF, students, friends and families of Riffa Views International School (RVIS) in Kingdom of Bahrain, have raised than BD5,700 for victims of Pakistan floods. The money was raised through a school-wide community service project featuring card and bake sales as well as individual donations. All students were given an opportunity to design their own cards, which were then displayed for sale during the student-led conferences. Parents showed their support by purchasing stacks of the cards and also organised a bake sale of their own. Many families also donated to a special money jar, which was created especially for the occasion by student Zara Waheed.

The campaign followed a series of presentations by Middle School council members Michelle Schoenicke, Jennifer Loveland-Rose and Noor Durrani on the devastation caused by the floods. They also spoke about how RVIS students could help to support the International School of Islamabad’s Flood Relief Project.
RVIS principal Dot Loveland said it was wonderful to see such an overwhelming show of support by the RVIS community. To ensure that funds raised by RVIS reach the flood victims most efficiently, RVIS teamed up with the International School of Islamabad.
