Chasing 135 runs in 20 overs is easier than chasing 240 in 50 overs. D/L method IMO hugely favours the side batting second.
When the requirement has been slimmed down to blah blah should you also not as a team be required to chase the runs with fewer wickets say 6? - i.e you should nominate your 4 specialist batsmen and 2 tailenders at the innings break?
When you are chasing almost half the initial total, should you also not have to give up two of your specialist batsmen?
Whereas English batsmen would have been more cautious when chasing 240 they now almost have a free licence to go after the bowling without worrying too much about keeping wickets intact.
Should the D/L method be revisited?..it should not just be runs but also wickets allowed to the chasing team that should be revised at the break.
This is simply not cricket!!
England currently 60/0 after 8 overs, almost strolling
