Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Jatt Jee, we need you to post more than twice in a day’s time.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

It has to but lets hope that he stays in the picture because we certainly need him more than we needed Sami EVER!

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

rana sahab was never really that great a test bowler. we should have four fast bowlers in our attack gul, nazir, shoabie and rana and shuffle them around.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

It shows how matured Gul has become. Only if he had support like today from another in-form attacker.

:k: Hats off to both bowlers.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Shoaib will replace Nazir. Rana will find it very difficult to come back.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Umar really bowled well with Asif… *first of all thanks to Allah for bringing some discipline in the side .. *Sami’s absence is certainly showing in everyone’s performance here. Imagine if Faisal was not in the XI either, we would probably have won by now! :snooty:

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Gul is on Hat trick when he bowls in the second innings. Hope he gets it. :k:

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

asif nai izzat rakh li. all this time theres been talk of how things would have been different if he were around, and that could have been discredited if he had taken his time (as is natural) to get into playing form.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

With Niazi available for our disposal, the biggest news is that we got rid of Sami, finally. And have found two replacements for Shabbir.

Its a nice pool of bowlers.

Akhtar
Asif
Rana
Gul
Nazir
Niazi

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Hafeez faces the frist ball.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

He had to perform today to show the real class of Pakistan pace attack and that the result of this series could easily have been different, eventhough it is now in the record book that England beat Pakistan in 2006.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Hafeez opens the scoring with a chokka.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

That's a shame, becuase in ODIs, Rana Naveed is just as good as Umer if not BETTER, and on top of that, he's a good batsman too.

If it were up to me, I would DEFINITELY pick Rana over Gul, because (a) he's a better ODI bowler, (b) he's had a good time in Engladn (c) He's very hand as a number 8 batsman.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Now a chokka by Farhat.

Re: 4th Test - Eng vs Pak - Oval, 17th-21st Aug.

Funny how the "EXCLUSION" of one player can make all the difference.

It's just like how at times, India would have been better off playing with 10 players, instead of having Ganguly waste 60 balls for his 20.

LIke someone else said earlier in this thread, we might have done better wiht 10 players than Sami actually bowling for us.
