Re: 4th Test: Australia vs. India at Adelaide, Jan. 24-28, 2008
^pitch looks like a batting paradise
i think shastri was very correct in saying india should also bat for time to keep aussies from batting much today
kumble keeps impressing me every day, what a player he has been for India
not so sure about that. A couple of Aussie wickets today would seriously dent their hopes of winning this test. They would n't mind if they could just draw here but India have to win to square the series. I know India lost the second test (thanks to bad umpiring) and England lost here a while ago after making 550 odd but you don't often see that in tests.
519/9 now. Kumble 82* really rubbing it in and probably looking for his second test hundred

well I dont know, they have put up 519 with that strategy, pitch is really good, runs that u dont get in this innings will be runs you will have to get in 2nd innings (which seems pretty hard, looking at the history of the pitch)
i think put in aussies to bat in for an hour or more at the end, and look to pick up some wickets

This looks like a flat sub-continental track.
But the interesting thing is that Test Matches at Adelaide have almost always yileded a result. Only 2 matches out of 18 Test Matches played on this ground since 1990 have been drawn (source: Cricinfo).

Adam Gilchrist’s (aged 36) record (414 scalps/96* Tests) won’t stay for very long. He will probably retire after an year or so. South Africa’s Mark Boucher aged 31(413/109) has time on his side to make it 600+ dismissals, a record which might never be broken* http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/content/records/283791.html

seems Indians will b successful in squaring the series...
the only team at the moment, who can down aussies
we did down the Aussies - remember 137/6 in 2nd test at which point the umpire went blind and deaf. Symmonds went on to score a century and Aussies supposedly 'won'!
