at the beginning our fielding was pretty awesome..then they went and MESSED it up BIG time by dropping 4 catches

England reach 229, a useful little effort from Matt Prior. It's a par score on this ground so gives them a fight chance, but the vital period will be how Sri Lanka go against the hard new ball. We'll only know the true value of Trott's innings in a few hours however, he's given England something to bowl at along with Eoin Morgan's fifty. Sri Lanka's bowlers were good - although England worked the spinners nicely - but some of the fielding was horrendous and could yet cost them.

chasing is always more pressure but I still feel that England's 229 is 20-30 runs short of being a defendable total on this slow pitch
