Do you think a couple with 4 kids is considered a big family?

Depends on where you live. In the West, yes, that is considered large. In Muslim countries, no, that is considered small or average.

I consider a couple with three kids or more a large family. There's nothing wrong with that though. As long as the parents have the means to provide for kids and more importantly, spend TIME with those kids, why not? It is when people keep popping kids out and then don't have the time to raise them and eventually make future criminals, that's when I want to tie the moms up and throw an IUD in there.

anything at 3 kids and up 3 is a big family, well here anyway!

but if u have the energy for it, screw what ppl say or think .. i used to think i would never have more than 2 kids and look here have 3 now ..mA :)

yes kind of, but why care for people so much? if parents can raise 4 kids with good upbringing then why not.

I think 2-4 seems "normal", 5+ feels big.

my sister has 4 boys and mashaAllah they just compliment eachother!!! with three, at least one felt left out sometimes :D

I think families with 3 or more kids are considered big families in the West. Most couples stop at 2. I love big families but I've found raising more than 2 kids can turn out to be rather expensive at least in the US, if you want to enroll them in several extra curricular activities and want to pay their college tuition!

I think it depends on the age-gap between the kids.

Smaller age-gap = bigger family. Bigger age-gap = smaller family.

Personally, I think each to his own. Have as many kids as you can handle, spend time with and raise well.

We are 4 girls...I still feel like we should have been more!

4 kids is rare these days from what I see...it happens but not as often as it did before.

I guess its considered a medium size family...I don't think its big.

^ ek bacha burhapay ki awlaad hona chahyay who is supposed to stay back with us,entertain us and keep us busy when elders are off for professional education/shadi shuda :D

I never ever imagined myself as mom of 3. Always thought anything more than 2 was BIG. And here we are with 3 kids mA. :)
