Re: 40th Anniversary
Are you going to be there for this celebration or is it a long distance phone call and a shipped gift we are talking about here?
Re: 40th Anniversary
My inlaw parents last year celebrated 50th anniversary.
So all of us chipped in our pennies and gave them a surprize party...complete with all their friends...grandkids....karioke.... and a wedding cake!
Our gift was a scrapbook
We asked family and friends to jot down a special or funny memory they had regarding our anniversary couple to be included in the scrapbook. In addition ... we asked that everyone look through their photographs for favorite nostalgic and/or recent memory of time spent together.
Some of the photos we had made into slides....together with old slides..we flashed with music of their day...and played..... well I guess that sounds kind of boring..but in reality it was fun viewing old pictures some had never seen before and old pictures of everyone together.
Anyhow..Party was a big hit.
And parents loved the memory book....especially words by the grandkids...from age 3 to over 21!!
Oh yes...One cannot forget the Polka music...:)
Roll out the barrel, We'll have a barrel of fun...
Roll out the barrel, we've got the blues on the run...
Zing boom terrara...
(really should be Polish greeting)
Join in a glass of good cheer...
Now it's time to roll the barrel...
For the gang's all here ....
Re: 40th Anniversary
That’s cool!
So assuming that your hubby/wife is the eldest child and was born a year after they were legally married, he/she is exactly 39 years old? WOW! I think I have psychic powers!
Re: 40th Anniversary
AveAG- thank you for sharing your experience. The is absolutely wonderful. I wont be able to go to pakistan for the event but i can definitely take over the scarp book idea and the slides and old photos, put them together and ship them over, and my other brothers and sisters in law can arrange the party.
Samael, my hubby is number 4 in a row of 7 (hee hee) so he is not 39 yet.
Re: 40th Anniversary
He's 35 isn't he?
Damn I'm good!
Re: 40th Anniversary
Haa haa, actually not all couples have a kid every year and a half, he is 31 but thank u for the guess work.
Re: 40th Anniversary
Send them on a 2nd honeymoon to the Northern areas of Pak :D
If they were here, you could have sent them on a cruise.
