virtually all of these points are either:

1. not embarrassing because they are a function of being the wealthiest nation and having the largest economy in the history of the world.
2. not embarrassing in general.
3. simply false.

I think your reading to much into it.

This is more light hearted chatter, then an actual serious critique of the US.

That being said, there is something to be embarrassed of and ripe for criticism. I mean, the most obese, highest incarceration rate, education at the Primary to high school level, these things are from what I have heard, pretty abysmal in comparison to other industrialized nations. Not to mention the Health Care system in the US, which although not mentioned, is pretty pathetic.

And I do think elections are too expensive, and could be streamlined. Isnt election finance reform a good thing?
