I liked Botham’s suggestion that a team should not lose a review even if the ball is only just hitting the stumps

OK it cannot be given out under the present rules (< 50% contact) but it should also not result in a team losing the review.

Exactly what I stated earlier. If close calls go umpire way even though ump decision was closely wrong then close calls shoukd not result in challenge being deducted!

Furthermore, if DR’S has the technology to get it right, I see no reason to not overrule umpire call and get it right.

Umps are humans. They can give in to subconscious bias and rule in favor of those they identify with. So these close calls going one way can add up. Not saying it happened here. Onky way to avoid is - technology has final say.

Either have technology as final arbiter. Or no drs.
