I know what you mean but choke is when you lose a game from a winning position. Being thrashed out of sight (and NZ were thrashed in all the semis incl. the 1999 v Pak which they lost by a whopping 9 wickets) does not = choke

Funny that Kiwis have choked 5 times in the Semis of WC, more than Proteas have, and yet who gets the label of being Choker - Saffies

The thing is everyone almost never expects Kiwis to make it to semis, yet they do and get beaten out. Because everyone knows that they are not super talented yet they are very combative. but any team in sf is more talented than them and combative too so will thrash them.

but everyone expects South africans to reach semis because they are so super talented and organized and yet they fail so always called chokers…
