He played anchor role in semi-final too but it was so heavy anchor that it drowned the whole ship 
Today he played well though and because asking rate was not too high to begin with, him playing slow did not effect the inning :k:

We bash Misbah because he is the one led from the front and we managed to have honorable outcome from South African Test series, but we adore likes of Afridi who tries his best to loose a test match and then announce retirement from the test format again..
We call Misbah Tuk Tuk, cause he try hold his end while other fails, he stand on the ground and Pakistani batting line falls like house of cards, what does he should do, try to hit every ball out of the park so that whole batting side can be bundled up for some small total??? or fails to reach a total...
For those who blame misbah for Semi-Final, easily forgets that there were another 10 players in team and had they not lost their wikcets ( Younis, Hafeez, Both Akmals, Afridi and Razaq) while playing wild shots and have concentrated on developing a partnership, the pressure could have gone back to India and Pakistan could have win, but none stood there and all we do is blame the only guy who kept his cool...
In this series, in role of Misbah was crucial, out batting did failed yet again, the likes of Umer Akmal have still to prove that they deserve the place in the team, Hafeez does play on his day but that day comes few times in year, Apart from Asad and Misbah rest of the batting line up is hopeless should be dropped...
It is evident from the South African Series till now, that if Misbah fails, Pakistan loose the match, and we criticize the match-winner only because he is not entertaining rather he plays cricket as per the situation... tells us about the sorry state of mind of so-called cricket fans here...

But that - not just the runs but the stupid and irresponsible manner in which he gets out - is inexcusable now since Afridi is the captain. That he compensates for it with his bowling is not a good argument

very well said. We all blame him because he could not deliver in the semi finals when as you said all the other players failed and if he had also fallen we would have been routed. Not only that we conveniently forget the bowling debacle of Gul and four dropped catches (one by Misbah). What did Afridi do in the semis, where was his captaincy, where was his leadership. But lets take the easy option and blame Misbah. The other ten played brilliantly and the defeat was only due to Misbah. Talk about burying our head in the sand. As far as I am concerned may his tuk tuk reign long. At least he delivers and not resign captaincy and run like some others.
Oh and look at my earlier post and look at his contribution in Windies. he is still not out in all three ODI's, take out his contribution and Pak would be struggling to win and would have definitely lost the 3rd ODI.
