I will chose Afridi for Pakistan every time and someone with consistency for my team.
Afridi is pretty consistent as a bowler my friend and a pretty good fielder too.
As I said, his batting is bonus when it comes off.

Afridi's primary role in the team as a spinner should never be overriden by his batting abilities.

That was exactly his role when he made his debut.
The thing is that bowlers like Afridi and our Irfan Pathan exhibited their "batting skills" to their own peril....creating expectation among the public and now they are supposed to deliver with both ball and bat.
I think its a cruel world out there for perceived "all-rounders".
Its like you do something very well at office and the Boss is so happy with your job that henceforth he always sends that kind of work your way and overloads you....while your less-efficient colleagues have an easier time.

may be. Plus he is a liability through atrocious field behavior bordering between unsportsman to cheating. Last time he tried spiking the pitch...yesterday he was blocking Gambhir when latter was running and just as collision was going to occur I sw him actually extend his elbow to G's rib level. the guy is a cheat in my books

I know you are emotional for India, but open your eyes. Nobody blocked your 12-year old princess from running. It's the batsman's job to go around the bowler. Now relax.

A comfortable win for India in the end. 295 I knew was going to be a real challenge (har roz 300+/- runs nahin chase hotay!). Yousuf was again runout at the wrong time thru a combination of sheer laziness and Yuvraj's brilliance. For someone of his experience to be getting runout so often in ODIs is pathetic and Pakistan never really recovered after that. Misbah tried but he was left with just too much to do. Once again Pakistan conceded far too many extras 29 to India's 13. Butt is something of an enigma. His 4th hundred (all of them against India) was a mixture of some wristy flourishes through off and delightful pulls. Don't know why he can't play like this more often.
